Managed to break the tailgate glass on the other half's Freelander on Sunday whilst replacing the window regulator; apparently I'm by no means the first to do this!
She needed the car Tuesday morning to go to uni; she's disabled and no rear window on a cold day would do her no favours at all. Windscreen specialists all had a week's lead time. Checked Bearmach's website, they had the glass in stock but the click and collect is closed because of Covid. Sent them a pleading e-mail, then phoned them Monday morning when I knew I'd be passing near the site in the lorry. Yes, they would make an exception because of the circumstances, got the glass, at a social distance and with PPE naturally; fitted it (VERY carefully) last night, I am £170 out of pocket but have a happy woman......priceless!
Haven't used Bearmach for donkeys years, since I had a Series 1 back in the 80's; great to know that good customer service and common sense still prevail in places.
