Disco 2 Too much play in front driveshaft? Loud clank when accelerating

Here's how much it moves in park and handbrake:



I often hear a loud clank when abruptly giving gas or abruptly taking the foot off after accelerating/being at inclines. Probably from that play, right?

Specs of note:
- About a 10mm lift above factory in the front, and about 20-25mm lift in the back (SLS)
- 1.5 inch bigger wheel diameter than factory: 30.5-inch wheels (265/60/R18)
- Discovery 2a 2003 4L V8 automatic

Also, how do those joints look to you?

If you haven't already done so, take it off and test it for play in all directions.
If it has ANY play it needs changing or the U/J(s) cardan joint.
But that just looks like play in the diff and/or transfer box, much of which is normal.

worth grabbing the prop and try and lift it up and down, that'll tell you the condition of the pinion bearing.
