Hi,
I don"t know if I"m being too cautious but last week out of the blue I received an email from a guy in Texas telling me he had a set of Seats for sale. They sound great and look okay all be it they are the wrong way around ie:-Left Hand drive. What concerns me is sending the money . I believe the guy only recently became a member. Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks

Are you publicly expressing a wish to buy seats? How did the person get your email address?

How can seats be wrong? Bit like trying to use a left handed hammer?

How out of the blue? Where did he get your email from? Have you searched on Google for the reference of the email? Otherwise a trust account might help that he only gets the money, once you have the seats, but even on that Paypal told me once to be careful at least on their site as it's been levered out. You would need a proper trust account where the money is blocked on both sides I guess.

What's so special about these seats that you're widening your search net to international? Remember these vehicles are most common in the UK, where they are in banger --> scrappable territory now, in other territories they are rare, and in the US they are premium vehicles, ergo parts will be pricier, and thats before shipping.

3 years ago, maybe.
Have you seen the prices recently, they're going up at an alarming rate, so much so I can't justify buying the wife one as a run around. 3 years ago I could have got one for peanuts, but not now. :(

I agree there's no point in importing seats from over the pond though, the shipping would outweigh the value many times over. ;)

That's music to my ears, I remember getting laughed at when I asked would the hippo become an appreciating classic...
I think people have realised that the FL1 is good enough for modern day motoring, but also much cheaper to maintain that the modern replacement.
