Sunday 18th May Pay & Play at one of the UKs greatest off road sites

The Family 4x4 event for all makes of 4x4 vehicles.

The site's reputation as one of britain's most enjoyable off road venues is well deserved, for no other site offers such a range on challenges for drivers. From novice to knowledgeable, old and new with the added ingredient of scenic surroundings.

Routes are marked out in 3 difficulty levels, winching banks, a labyrinth of hills, ponds and trees. Its such a multi pupose site, vehicles can get stuck for hours or just come out with a splattering of mud. Dependent on which routes have been followed!

See below for some comments e-mailed to us after March pay & play.

First time at Parkwood very much enjoyed it, looking forward to next time, keep up the good work, Thanks. John Pashley

Hey guys, thanks for a great weekend on Sun 9th March. It was our first time at Parkwood and we were really impressed with the professionalism of the Marshals and the general course layout, we will be visiting again sometime very soon and as avid campers we are looking forward to the camp over later in the year. Many thanks Jason and Kelly Moorhouse (K reg Shogun)

Open 10-4pm road legal vehicles only (this is an insurance requirement)

Please visit Parkwood Off Road Centre click on events page for more information.

If anyone wants to see pictures of 4x4s at tong visit Doric 4x4 - Homepage

Thanks -)

Oh yes, and the lake. Was a little bit deep when I last went through it in October after quite a bit of rain. Didn't help going off line and ended up with water half up the windows  There's some really tricky sections that you have to be careful of because you will do damage unless you are 100% precise - and standard protection will not prevent a wing from folding up or an outrigger from bending. Just don't ask how I know this... ;)

Best place to test yer winching is a lovely mud shoot just by the lake. Can only get through it without a winch is if you have ARB/Detroit lockers on both axles and very knobbly 35" tyres...

I am very tempted by this. I am fitting my winch/bumper setup on sat which I bought last weekend, and this sound great to try it out

:( Not for me this weekend. My bumper should of arrived yesterday, chased it this morning and it hasn't left the suppliers yet so will be here next week. Not very happy at all :(
