Good afternoon to all.
I have an issue fitting janspeed exhaust manifolds in a 4.6 v8
tomcat 100 (disco 1 based) and maybe you can help me. The right hand manifold exit stays more or less 10mm above crossmember, which is the normal position i thing. Differently, the left hand manifold exit stays lower and it touch the crossmember. Manifolds are in perfect conditions and absolutely steaight and not damaged . I checked engine position and it is perfectly leveled and centered (is a new conversion, before the car was powered by tdi engine). Can you help me?

The disco 1 was never fitted with a 4.6 here in the UK so you question is non-applicable to that model, the 3.9 engine was the largest fitted by LR. and Janspeed never produced manifolds for the 3.9 disco, also the stock exhaust Y pipe goes below the crossmember, iirc... the 3.5 RR both manifolds/Y pipe were above.

So to elevate the left hand manifold touching the crossmember the crossmember will have to be modified.
My first thought would be cutting out a section leaving a space, then the introduction of a half round piece of steel welded in to the space and therefore retaining the strength of the crossmember, of course in your measurements for the cut out an allowance should be made for any movement of the manifold when the vehicle is in use.

Tnx for suggestions.
I also thought about putting showers on left hand engine mount , but after this engine will be not leveled and i don't like it too much
4.6 block have same external dimensions ad 3.9 and i'm sure that those janspeed manifolds was previously fitted in disco 1 efi (they have 02 sensors plugs too)

There’s no doubt that they were fitted to some D1s, but they were for another models if so, they were not shown as available in my Janspeed catalogue at the time, but the Janspeed Cat Back system was shown so I purchased one... that was 11+ years ago and they ceased production soon after, so they may have been RR V8 manifolds hence the difference.
