Hello everybody, I am a Landrover owner for almost 20 years. my first Landrover was a Defender County 10 seat LHT 3.5 with air brakes. Bought in London and I drove this vehicle all over Scandanavia and through Russia. I sorted all the problems myself.
Now we have a 2004 Freelander TD4 and I can't do anything myself. it's too complicated and I don't have the equipment.
This car visited the Landrover dealer last Friday to have a new sunroof switch fitted. When It came home there was a sound from the horn when we used the unlock on the fob. When locked the driver's door pin seemed in a half way position.
Yesterday after driving the car was parked for a couple of hours and then failed to start. It would turn over but no start. Then we succeeded in locking the keys inside. The Landrover dealer advised that we smash the window. We used a less violent method and recovered the keys.
During the non start period I checked the fuel pump and it was whirring away. We got the Freelander to Landrover Dealership on the back of a recovery vehicle (every Landrover owner should have one).
The dealership had the Frelander for about 2 hours and they called us and told me that they fitted a new fuel pump at Euro 414:00 about £290:00.
The horn does not sound any more when I click the remote control button.
All is well now, or is it ?.
