Today i did some annoying repairs: heater controls bulb, foglight and rear heated window switch bulbs, fixed the door pins to activate the interior lights, fitted a handsfree bluetooth kit and an inside electronic aerial, as the original one is....well i dont know where it is, nor do i care as it dont work.
Now got Radio 2 back again, wahaaaaaayyyyy.

Also bled the fuel sediment filter, the water and crap that came out ffs.
And i fitted my EGR blanking plate.

Never has 3.50 been so well spent, the difference in response from when the turbo kicks in is remarkably improved, as is the free revving of the engine in comparison to before.
Im a happy bunny.

Ebay will take a battering tonight with some bits i need for it, as well as some for my caravan.
Dog guard and rear step for starters.....................

Today I have been replacing 1 front brake calliper and the bushes on the radial arms (its a pig to get the old bushes out!) Unfortunatly I ran out of time to change the alternator.

today i should have been renewing a steering shaft uj. ive been making a studwork wall instead, for her indoors.

James you have my sympathy.
Im planning on doing the radius arms, panhard rod, and some doughnut shaped bush on back axle my LR guy keeps telling me about?????
Well technically, when i say "im planning" i mean im planning to drive it to the garage, were said mechanical chappies can do the radius arms etc etc.....................

I am not a charlaton, as you so eloquently put it.
Im a capricorn. i know that for fact, i was at my birth.

Anyway, to be honest the radius arms i can do, the panhard i can do, but i have absolutely no idea what this doughnut bush is on back axle. I will endeavour to do panhard rod this week.

Best thing I can sugest is when he tell you again about it ask him to show you, then you will understand a little more about you'r car or how good the mechanic is as to whether he is telling porkies.

In fairness he offers to show me stuff i dont know. Im not bad at stuff, but im in no way a serious mechanic. So he does offer to show me whats what and hot to change simple thigs and stuff, even though i may offer to pay him he wont take money if its a simple job i can do.

Tadoy I purchased a double carden prop and some wheel spacers. Both will get fitted during the week as soon as my m8 has some free ramp-time. He's the mechanic, I am the dirrty git who steals his workshop for hours on end and replaces it with beer. It works for me!

Today I shall mostly be fixing........

myself a drink and watching Australia v South Africa in the One Day International Cricket match! :D (on the telly  )

Really should be giving the V8 beastie a bath, knocking up a book shelf, or at work talking to German tourists in microwaves (campervans).

I'll be getting two days off this month, I'll do all that stuff next fortnight :p

Looks like i may be bidding against you on ebay Lenny, just doing the same routine on my Disco 2 (including rear step), hope you not too rich!! :D

rear steps are expensive, and unless you use the 3rd row seats regular, a lot of money for occasional use. however if you really feel the need for one, why not get one that bolts behind the towbar as these are only about 25 quid. also, hydraulic rear steps tend to seize up as they are positioned low down where all the **** off the road gathers. just a little advice ;)

Yeah I know they are expensive, one on ebay for 36 quid at mo complete, but the seller answered my question about a working damper (the broken bit) with 'what is pictured is what is for sale !!!!' hmmmmmm so now i'm bidding on a damper only.

guy's guy's guy's come on...stop fighting....you sound like you two need a head to head off roading challenge to resolve your differences....

Goodrich tyres at dawn......

can we all watch ?
