hi all

I'm sure you've guessed wot this is about, and yes I've searched and searched and found everything but wot I want to know

It's just a simple one, im wanting some 16x8 modulars to put my 285/75 16 bfg km2's onto my d1 that has 2" lift and +5 shocks but I'm wanting to see pictures of peoples vehicles with different modulars on because I'm stumped when it comes to offset, and where some of them sit in relation to the arches.
I don't know if I should get et0 or et8 or even another offset, I know 8mm doesn't sound much but if it's the difference between catching or not then I'd like to know. Or if you have any experience of this set up and have any advice then I'd be very grateful before I learn the costly way because in this day and age spare hobby money is hard to come by as I'm sure many of us know.

Also does anyone know where does et8 apart from paddocks but without those plastic bolt lookalike things in?

Many thanks

Towsey

My Disco with 31" BFG's, can't remember the ET, sorry, but I think 32.

Perfect thanks paul, exactly the type of pic I'm talking about

I've now found somewhere that does et8 as well thanks

So come on folks show us your et's :)

A 285 and 00ET will almost certainly stick out of stock arches and rub them under articulation. Are you or have you fitted after market flares?

Just as Q, do you understand how wheel offset is measured and what effect it has on wheel placement. No worries if you do :) but not everyone does, e.g. a 16x7 and 16x8 both with 00ET will not sit in the same place. There are some good online websites that can show this visually.

For reference I think a stock Discovery 5 spoke steel rim is a 16x7 with 33ET. You should be able to work out how much outbound this will move going to 00ET or 08ET on a 16x8 and account for the 285/75 vs say a stock 235/75 tyre.

Hi and cheers for that
Yeah I know how it is measured and works but cheers anyway. I would love to find that something like a et8 would sit just rite and miss on articulation but really I'm guessing there's a fair chance that I will need arches but no I haven't fitted them yet but I will if needs be. I don't like arches being fitted and the wheels being tucked well under them so if I know for definite I will need arches then that will influence wot offset I will pick and I will try to pick a wheel and spacer combo to fill the arches rather than just go for something along the lines of a et-35 wheel, but I will be stocking up on wheel bearings ha
I can, and probably will when I get chance, try a friends wheels that I think are et8 with bfg at's on and I aim on getting some flex with them on and get a look at the arches

Cheers

Lol your tyres are on backwards. Ok if being towed, not so good for driving though ;)

They're not I just do a lot of reversing lol

Na they are on the wrong sides as my mate mixed them up & I couldn't be bothered to change them back
its a project not been on the road since 2011 (well spotted tho ;))
