tires for a 96 explore xlt

I am looking at the Toyo 800 ultra (96,000mi/160,000km 6 yr
warranty).My needs are performance/safty first,then tread
life,price,and warranty.This tire has my tread life and warranty needs
covered.But how does it stack up to other tires.Any advice or
suggestions would be appreciated. [Size is 225/70/15.The price I was
quoted for the Toyos was $685 total for all four tires]

The 800 is an all season (highway) touring tire, is it not? Had Toyo 800s on
my subaru legacy ... they were excellent touring tires on the subaru ...
quiet, very good traction dry and wet on tight turns at speed, ok on the awd
in the snow (as for wear ... my opinion, if a tire has a long tread like it
likely has poor traction due to a harder composition) ... but on an
explorer, I dunno.
