Tired R380

I recently bought a new Discovery 300tdi and the gear box is feeling a bit worn, slightly grinds into 2nd and 3rd gear.
I was wondering if anyone knows or anyone is the Devon area who is able to recondition it!?

Also i was thinking of putting some 235/85/16 tyres on it, but as i understand this will mess up the gear of my car. If i was to replace my discovery transfer box with a defender one would it solve the whole gearing issue?

not sure about anywhere in devon that can help you, but take alook at ashcroft transmissions. As for the tyres i'm running 33"x12.5"xr15 or 285/85/15 on standard disco gearbox/transferbox, without any problems. I would say you would be fine to fit you tyres

Doesnt having bigger tyres mean that you are actually going faster than your speedo is say? Have you just learnt to live with this!?

Yes that can be an problem, think are speedo is about 4-5 mph out, ie it reads under. We just keep that in mind so in a 30mph zone the keep the speedo at 25mph, seems to work well.
