Posted a week or so ago temp only in the blue on my 95 DT and have this afternoon changed the water pump, viscous, thermostat and drive belt.
The old viscous was alomst solid so suspect that was the culprit but have yet to test run her as the housing for the thermostat is dripping. The thermo that I bought did not come with a new o-ring, so tried the old one, tried a stretched 50mm o-ring, and finally a spare from a diesel filter (not RR) and gasket compund. The old o-ring is stretched and deformed like an old sailors woman. So does anybody now where I can get a suitable o-ring? 60mm internal? Any idea of material diameter 3.2mm or 4mm?
Also the idler bearings seemed a bit rough when rotated when changing the drive belt. Should I just accept this or change?
