Thermostat on 2.5 v6

How do you get to the thermostat on a Freelander. It looks like you have to strip the whole top of the engine off.

Ok figuared this out ,got to take off the inlet manifold to get to the stat when reassembling watch out for catching th o ring on the injectors. Cut a slice off the one o ring and luckily i tested and tried to bleed the high pressure line before fully assembling the inlet manifold completly. Had to wait 3 days because of weekend and bank holiday,hopefully the rest will go easier

Whilst you have got the manifold off, replace the plastic elbow, plastic pipe and all 'O' rings and 2 plastic clips as they leak after a time and as you have found out, a b*****d to get to.
