The kind of temptation my wife would kill for.

My Disco 200tdi conversion has worked great. It's got decent enough speed and torque, bit too loud, 70mph is ok, but not for long journeys. I am aware of the options for improving the engine, performance head, larger capacity intercooler, vnt turbo, play with fueling and boost. But theres something to be said about some proper performance, ie the kind of performance you get from a V8. I like the idea of 180-200bhp and 220-250ft/lbs of torque. Also with a standard V8 exhaust, it's pretty quiet crusing down the m/way. The fuel economy of the diesel is ok, pretty shocking with the V8.
But here's my dream.
3.5 V8 (because everyone wants 3.9s so they're a bit cheaper) with Hotwire efi, from a 91/92 Disco.
Full rebuild.
New Cam.
Tubular ex manifold
Port and gas flowed heads.
Injection upgrades.
Should make 180bhp and 250ft/lbs. Maybe manage 17-18mpg.

Like I say, it's a dream.

What are everyone else's dreams that their wives/partners wouldnt like?
