Where the winches aren't.
I'm grumpy today, for lots of reasons including a new chip in my windscreen that's probably too big to be repaired but mainly COS' EBAY'S RUBBISH!

Anyone sold a car on there recently? I wouldn't bother. It no longer appears to be an auction site. It seems you post an item on there then people constantly email you asking "what your best price for quick sale" is.

Ebay even kindly disclosed my full name and mobile number to some Asian bloke I didn't know from Mohammed, who then called me at ten past bluddy one on Monday morning & called me a "white bastard" & told me to go fark myself just because I really wasn't interested in his ridiculous offer!

Thier new tag line ought to be: Ebay, forge it, steal it, screw it!

Never used ebay..........but I suppose it's like everything that is human related...........it's bound to get F***ed up by some idiots form time to time.

Nah, it's a steady deterioration not just time to time. Did used to be really fun & people on there were really polite & helpful, some are still around, but mainly you just get swamped by schiesters who want to scam you or just want something for nothing.......so they can sell it on ebay!

I was kinda unofficially policing ebay a year or so ago with some other guys sick of scammers & heard some pretty rough stories from people who'd been ripped off for thousands. More fool thjem you may say, but ebay are selling themselves as a safe global market, then when something goes wrong don't want to know. Believe me, I've tried complaining down the proper routes, you just get automatic responses.

I did get one personal response, it was to reprimand me for violating their policies as I had a listing that wasn't selling anything, just listing bogus listings and warning people what to look out for. Cool huh?

Yeah, you'll give me best price?

ha ha, I know it's fairly straightforward, it's just another job on the list of jobs that's supposed to be getting shorter, but everytime I tick something off I add another 3...........Maybe Slob's got the right idea!

one swallow dont make a summer.
same with ebay, one bad deal dont make ebay bad. yes i know there are plenty of scammers out there, esp with the cars and the laptops.

but ive dont about 200 deals on ebay and just 3 have gone sour.
i reckon thats a better ratio than any high st store.
and a better ratio than the numptys that u see day to day.

The internet is the new wild west you should always think before you put any of your personal details on it.
There are individuals out there looking for this sort of stuff 24x7 and it's worth money.
if you don't publish your phone number you cant be called.
I suggest that you only do things on eBay through a e-mail account set up for the purpose.

Sorry if this is preaching after the event but I deal in internet security and you would not
believe what sort of scum is out there praying on the goodwill of others.
If in doubt walk away.

nevva had much problems wiff e bay..
cept one **** accused me of artifiaclly inflating the price..then send an email saying he had made a mistake, he got upset when i called him an arse then he reported me to fleabay for using abusive langauge. which i didn't think was as abusive as him tarnising my flea bay name with his lies.
anothe rtwat left feed back saying one item was broken and that it wur my fault which was bollocks.

and lastly a n othet **** didn't send item fer weeks , didn't answer e mails but i dint care paypal refunded the money to me two days before the item arrived here so ah got it fer free
golden rule of flea bay dunt bid more than you are willing to lose

I've never had any problems at all whatsoever with Ebay................But then I've never used it. Everything I've looked at has been cheaper from ligitimate dealers especialy if postage is taken into account.

Hey Ormus
one swallow dont make a summer.
But it could make an old man happy.

Don't get me wrong, I've actually never had a deal go bad & have 140 positive feedbacks. I'm savvy enough not to get ripped off, but what dogs me is the huge increase in chancers who just try it on & how little ebay do to stop it.

The geezer who bad mouthed me has 2 feedbacks but 74 bids of his have been retracted since he joined in October, SEVENTY BLUDDY FOUR, yet he's still allowed to trade!

Sure when I joined I was obliged to put a fone number. I'm not that bothered, it's only my mobile, but when ebay hand it out to anyone who requests it, at one in the bluddy morning (he hadn't put a bid on or nowt, just asked for my details - Anyone know where the page is to do that? I couldn't bluddy find it!) I gets a bit ****ed off!

You post an item (especially cars it seems) & brace yourself for the onslaught of chancers. Small items are generally fine, scammers don't bother, but anything over say 500 notes & you can expect some low life activity & sadly there are suckers out there who fall for it.

hey honkie! ill give you 50 quid and the use of my sister for it!
buy and sell on ebay all the time with cars mate, only had one encounter with a guy who actually sent me a cheque for 8.5k for one of my jags, it was then to be picked up by his shipper lmao! his shipper got a shock when he tunred up, am not the type of lad to take the **** out of as i had entered the cheque a while before he turned up and to my ashtonishment it bounced?? lol saying that so did the shipper!

saying that i still get the odd e mail from couple of knobs who have been after say........my rare fiesta 1.3 finesse. tossers!
