I`ve got a 1989, 90 td land rover and its got a problem with the starter motor ie, click,click,click when you turn the key.
Which is the best way to remove it as I cant even reach it to make sure the wires are on tight,
thanks fo any help.
PS. IF ANYONE NEEDS ANY HELP WITH ANY BODY WORK OR SPRAYING I CAN HELP, I HAD A BODYSHOP FOR 35YRS

Welcome to Landyzone.

If it is a single click then it is most likely your starter is goosed. If it is multiple clicks as you describe then a flat battery or a dodgy connection are likely. Test the battery first. It is the simplest and most likely culprit.
 
Thanks for the reply, sorry its only one click each time I turn the key.

Check the wires are clean and secure anyway but it sounds like your starters had it.

I haven't removed one off a TD but it should just be a case of removing the wires and unbolting it. If you post the question in the defender section you'll get a better response.;)
 
No idea what the answer to your question is but I would suggest changing your username to something different from your email addy.

Get a big hammer - the whack will loosen it and it will amazingly and miraculously work again for a short time (no, really, it will!) If not the battery isn't delivering enough power.
