I have the chance of a new Terrano 7 seat 2.7 diesel.
Currently have x trail but have heard they may have turbo problems.
i love teh x trail and have chance to buy from my company but
my friend has had to have Turbo replaced at 24k! Mine is 1 year old and 33k!
Cant afford risk if its my own expense!

Anyone got a Terrano who could tell me what they are like?
Thanks

Keith

The X-Trail will still be under warranty, won't it?

The Terrano is a bit tractor-like by comparison, but much more capable
off-road.

I've heard that Nissan is phasing the Terrano out.
I recently purchased a new X-Trail diesel, have not heard anything about the
turbo problems, only done 5k miles so far, hope your wrong.

A turbo replacement isn't usually very expensive, I replaced a turbo
in a car I have and it cost me 300 quid for the turbo to be
reconditioned by Turbo Technics (which took four days including pickup
and delivery via courier) and it was easy to fit. The only thing to
worry about is if the vanes come off, where to the bits of metal end
up? Usually in the catalytic converter.

If turbo replacement is your main worry then try looking into how much
it's likely to cost, it might not be very much provided that you don't
insist on a new turbo rather than getting yours reconditioned.

Thanks everyone for their advice.

I've decided to go for the x trail - the turbo is getting fixed under
warranty.

Thanks again
