I've just bought one of those tents from fleabay, seems very nice so far, although I havent actually put it on the landy yet Should be doing our first trip with it early next month, and I let you know how it performed and post some pics.
They are made in the same factory as Howling Moon, but use nylon instead of canvas. So they aren't as solid, but then they are lighter.
The guy who sells them is out of stock, but will have some more early March, you'll get the RT01 for 599, and the RT02 for 999 on ebay, which is slightly cheaper than his website Land Rover Roof Tents
Booger, how did you find the tent, on your tip, I thinking about getting a roof tent, as i am tring to plan a trip to morocco some time next year.
Any advice will be welcome.

It's complicated
The roof tent was fine to be honest, it is cheap, so it won't last as long a Hannibal. If fact my zip broke on the trip. It may actually have been operator error , and to be fair to them they replaced the whole zip thing free.
If I was going to buy a conventional tent and keep it for a long time I'd definately buy a Hannibal.. However after one trip I'm probably going to can my tent in favour of a trailer/expedition truck, so now I am glad I got the cheapie, cause I'll loose less than if I bought and resold a Hannibal straight away.
You may have noticed Griff says the Maggiolina is the only way, in fact he has said it 3 million times, but nobody seems takes any notice of him
I can see the appeal of a hardshell tent, less flapping in the wind etc, but it does take up your entire roof rack, and it makes you look a bit like a french tourist
