Hi everyone.

After solving the mystery of why my air filter wasn't as it should be, I have another issue.

It seems my Series 3 started life as a Petrol before somebody dropped a 2.5 diesel in it.

The issue I have is the temp gauge is always just below red, it doesnt seem to be overheating I can touch the radiator hoses with my hand and it is running ok so I don't think it is actually overheating.

Im guessing that I have a gauge/engine compatibility issue, would you agree/disagree and if so is it solvable or should I just live with it?

you'll need a 2.25 sender unit to match the series guage, not another 2.5 sender, as that'll be matched to a 90/110 gauge.
and iirc the threads are different so you'll need an adaptor too.
if your using the original engine sender, might be why its reading near the red on a series guage.
