Hi all

Am i going to change the gear oil and pan filter on my rr however the price of it is horrendous.
I looked on ebay there a number of sellers with different oil and filter Package at different prices
So is it a most to use the landrover stuff or could i use more reasonable priced oil.
If anyone knows what oil i need
Gearbox, transferbox and axle diffs and amount it would be much appreciated
Thanks

I had this problem with auto-box fluid for our daily drive.
I purchased a substitute meeting the correct manuf. spec. from a reputable supplier. It's a case of paying for the product, not the label.

It's important to do your research, there's plenty of info. on the 'net.

Worth a look on eurocarparts they often have more than 50% off offers which makes it much cheaper.
@Bemble is the gearbox guru so he will probably know the correct spec.

ZFLifegard 6 of the 6spd.

ZFLifegard 8 for the 8spd..

Kits on ebay..

Don't put dextron in it for **** sake..

hi mate

Also see that Mannol is an approved substitute for lifeguard

AG 55 for the 6 x speed
AG 60for the 8 x speed

can buy 10 x litres of the AG55 for around £50

seen mixed reports ref filter kits

Plus personally don’t like powerflushing gearboxes, think u have the same opinion didn’t u

ps, hope ur keeping well mate

I have been looking at getting AG55,
As LRtrade part in selby sell it so it must be decent because there **** hot, there got me a full front strut with dunlop airbag for £110 cheaper than just a airbag from andrew pages last week

Its cost me a fortune this car, its probably out done my p38 which is saying something And it still has a few fault codes and issues i need to tackle, good job i dont have labour charges.

anyway Cheers lads
Much appreciated

hi

put a link up there ref the AG55, ive got a D3 so understand ref costs etc, alas worse thing many people do is cut corners , I bought mine as a project and taken me roughly 3 x years to get it to standard I’m happy with , much of the time was spent undoing bodges from previous owners
