Td6 LCM & water

2005 Td6. Symptoms/issues:

Rapidly blinking headlights, tail lights & brake lights

Indicators not working

Handbrake/brake warning light on

Local Land Rover garage suggested I do a hard reset.

Result no flashing lights, but left side headlight on main beam, even with ignition key removed.

2nd hard reset "fixed" the issue.

But only for it to return a few weeks later. Now it seems to be an intermittent issue.

This is a LHD car as I'm in Spain. So where is the LCM (photos attached) and do you think this is the root problem?

Also note that both passenger and driver side floors were damp after this winter.

First thing you need to do is fix the leak.
Second is look for the part number on that module then google it to see what it is. But it does look like the LCM.

And yes the LCM controls the lights and as they don't like water this is more than likely your issue.

The leak or leaks maybe, are being addressed. Can you see the LCM in either of the photos? The image I have of an LCM for this model doesn't seem to correspond to what I see once I removed the trim.

This looks like the corner of the LCM. I will take a picture of my spare one from that angle when my meeting finishes at 11:30 my time

You need to get one from the same year with the same lights (LED, HiD etc). It also stores a backup of the mileage and I've heard the instrument cluster will take the higher mileage after a while unless you reprogram it fairly soon.

Didn't the gods of JLR ensure that the mileage went to whichever was the higher of the two (like when you put a put a new binnacle/BeCM in a P38)?

I've heard that a lot but haven't experienced it. When i changed mine I updated the VIN and mileage with days.
