Td6 air susp inactive front down

Hi all, I think I’m new to the forum although I may have joined years ago with all my previous Land rovers and ranges, well here goes, looking for some inspiration guys. Air suspension went inactive at a constant 60 mph on a motorway, Range Rover vogue 2005 TD6, it stayed up for about 25 mile, we stopped for an hour to hitch up a trailer, suspension still up, drove back 40 mile and noticed the front end down on return. This is my brothers car so as yet I haven’t put a diagnostic on it, but presume it to be leaking from forward pipes, is there a front / back valves which if faulty would allow air to deplete from front but back stays up ? I’ll post more after a few checks and attempt to get the front back up, in the meantime any ideas on type of checks other than bubble solution could speed the process ... thanks in anticipation ... Sounds like front air strut gone but investigation needed.

Could be sensor. As you've already alluded to, diagnostics are quickest and simplest solution.

Welcome to the forum, being TD6 it's probably sticking it's rrrr's in the air to make it easier for you to replace the gearbox.

I’d normally agree but changed atf and filter a while back so that’s ok. I went to see the truck last night and connected my obd scanner which said no faults no history faults, scanner did not pick up the VIN, it normally does. No lights on the suspension at all, but pump sounds like it’s running. Will re attempt tonight with live data mode to check OBD port … Joss

I don't know if a reversed sensor would show on diagnostics. Maybe worth a quick look underneath?
Someone will know better than me , but maybe disconnect pump, so it doesn't burn out?

What diag are you using?
Had a 2006 4.2sc in awhile ago that had blown a seal in a front shock.
Would drop down after a while on the front and would give a suspension fault warning.
One code was for the front right exhaust valve. The issue was the shock itself leaking when going over bumps. Two new front units later and a replaced worn-out compressor put rights to it

Hi all, we now have the icarsoft LR V3.0, I hooked it up the other night and had to manually input the vehicle and reset the suspension and get it all to work, it’s now 3 days later and still up but susp inactive has returned on dash and diagnosis don’t point to any specific item, very strange as I hooked this up to my 3.6 tdv8, it read the vin and inlputed itself automatically and read the no 2 cylinder intermittently imbalance, which leads to my second cry for advise within 2 week. Got the metal plate off of the left bank facing from front into engine, observed wet bubbling on top of rocker cover, wiped it clean and it reappeared, this is nearer to the fuel rail than the injectors, so I have bought a set of good genuine inj pipes to try before I pull no 2 injector to check the seals ( forgot to say I checked the injectors for operation with a stethoscope before to make sure the fault isn’t electrical or a kaput injector) I’m thinking pipe or a combination of both because of the lumpyness of the idle and hesitant pick up, Much more than if just one injector because it’s common rail .... anyone disagree before I go ahead or agree to inspire confidence ... thanks Joss.

Can you read the injector outputs on the diag.. They should all be pretty close together. Also a simple résistance test on each injector could show any problems in solenoids.
