TD5 Water pump replacement, how often?

Hi lads,

Was just wondering how often the pump needs replacing? been having a few issues with heating up the cab and removed it in the process and its defo needs changing. Im currently at 166k so wondering if its ever been changed.

Hi mate

If you are unsure about it just change it, don't think they are expensive?

Bleed the system well and when you do face the truck uphill so the rad is at the highest point if that makes sense? Also you say your having heating problems so check the thermostat

im in the ,middle of replacing my thermostat and pump. just wondering what the recommended life span is on the pump.

it's very important to use 50/50 oat/distilled water mix all the time and it will last more

Replace with a quinton hazel one, the others are crap.

Under the PAS pump cast there's a pressure relief drain, if your pump is shot (failed bearing seal) you an usually see coolant deposits there.

yup, i think mine failed so. hopefully that will put an end to my heating issues.
