Hi,

I have a 03 TD5 Auto es. When driving the vehicle all is normal. If you floor it it will start to surge as if it is momrntarily starved of fuel and then not. It only happens when demand for fuel is high but it is anoying when overtaking.

Do the later models suffer from oil in the harness? It has done 50k.

Thanks

maybe your fuel pumps on the blink?

later models dont have the oil problem as they use the new injuctor harness, but easy to check by taking out the ECU (1 screw), unpluging the multiplug an aving a look (Next to the Jack in the engine bay)

My fathers 2004 model suffered with the oil in the harness. They also found that the pump pressure was low (needed new fuel pump). All happened at 60K.

i have a 01 td5 autowhich does the same as yours . i have found that if you put the accelerator to about 3 quarter the way down and not to the floor it will kick down and accelerate as normal. not a solution but it works for mine.

I agree, a bit more testing has made me feel it is not a fueling prob but maybe a gearbox issue as it feels if it can not make up its mind to change fully or not. Like you if I go to three quaters throttle it is fine.

Thanks

Your car is overboosting - so the engine ecu cuts fuelling to stop possible damage.Usually caused by a sticking wastegate on the turbo.

Thanks eightinavee. How do i resolve the sticking waste gate? How does this happen (the sticking)? and is it an normal problem with wastegates?

Thanks in anticipation.
