Td5 spluttered dead

put my td5 110 off to open a gate tried to start it wouldn’t start tried a few things knocked the starter played with the earth etc got a pull out up a hill to bump start it started drove around 300yds started to splutter revved a little went fine whilst it was idling opening the gate more splutter drove 50yds died on me with all the dash lights flashing and a little smoke coming out of the bonnet tried to start it nothing at all the gauges were all not working after bump start as well any ideas

measure the battery voltage while cranking , it's possible that the alternator failed hence the smoke and sudeen seath then if the voltage drops below 10.5V while cranking it doesnt start even if it spins well.

Fuel pump dead
