As the title says. It has power, first thing I checked, but nothing happens when I use it. It looks to of had a high level brake light fitted at some time but I can’t see how removing it would cause the problem. Anything else I can check or is a new rear screen the only answer?

Pretty sure high level brake light is standard and I think it share an earth with the heated rear screen.
Pretty sure it's mandatory to have a high level brake light.

Check the with the supply connection unplugged check continuity or resistance of the element, they have been known following a slight damage to burn out in that area can be seen as a small burn mark/s somewhere along the track.

I’d have thought that the high level brake light was a factory fitment for a Td5 vehicle, as it was with the disco 2, at the top of the screen a blank area is left in the glass for the lamp fitting and the element shaped to suit.

So the lower connector on the right is the live and the two outer connectors are the earths. There is a good connection with both earths. I was wondering if the heater element at the top, where the brake light would be, is a little mangled.
