I have just rebuilt the starter motor solenoid on my 2004 Defender TD5 as I got the dreaded click.
Since then, the engine turns over lovely but absolutely no sign of starting.
Is it possible that in removing/replacing the starter motor I've ****ted the crank case sensor somehow thus inducing my now most annoying situation.

The battery is less than 6 months old likewise the injector seals, harness and fuel pump.
I don't have access to an OBD reader so having to go old school.

Thanks very much

CPS check wiring you may have tugged / snagged wire or pulled connector, fingers cross you not damaged the connector or the sensor itself if so replace simples.

OK, thanks for that. I'll have a look later. At least I now know its a possibilty.
It just seems so odd that it started on the nail every time before I rebuilt the soleniod than zilch after.

also check all yer fuses, easy to pop one when messing with starter motor, and a whole lot easier than a cps replacement

Bit of a delayed follow up on this.
All the fuses checked out ok so I pulled the connector from the CCS and cleaned it out. Whilst in the process I found out that the flexi pipe that goes from the wing intake, around the back of the engine and into the filter housing had a hole in it.
The next shopping list included a fuel filter, new air pipe and crank case sensor.
The engine started first time after replacing the crank case sensor. TBH, it wasn't actually that bad a job with the air pipe out of the way.
