TD5 noisy fuel pump again

i previously had a screaming fuel pump which was slightly muted by a replacement fuel filter but after advice from fellow members I replaced a very corroded filter housing and air bleed fitting. This immediately quietened the noisy pump and all was well for about 200 miles. However the noise has returned, like air being sucked, and is present when engine is not running and is no worse when engine is running. Any suggestions grateful received.
