Can someone explain on my recently bought discovery 2 td5 why a wire has been added from the plug on the clutch master cylinder to an earth point on the o/s front wing? Would earthing the switch make the light go out on dash/ ecu? I don't want to try to remove wire if it may create a fault. Regards daniel

maybe the clutch switch lost the earth for some reason and they gave it earth from other point to keep it working... as long as the gearchange doesnt affect the revs it's ok... it will not trigger any warning just that if it doesnt work the engine speed will rise when you take it out of gear while moving...you can unplug that switch without fear and see how it goes without it if you are curious...if nothing happens with it disconnected nit means they bodged something at the ECU too and the engine might run underfueled
