2003 TD5 120K has developed a stutter!

Has been very intermittent up until recently occurred more under load towing up hill etc and used to me more like the kickdown on an auto box when accelerating. No error codes or lights.

Now it kangaroos on occasion and then will drive fine for a few weeks. Most recently looses all communication with throttle engine management light comes on and we come to a halt and engine idles happily just wont rev and move.

Turn engine off restart and drives away fine. Again it can do it twice in 20 mins then do a long drive and behave for a few more weeks with only the occasional stutter.

Off to garage and codes were Driver demand and Road speed missing ( I think ) they have a non specific code machine generic to all cars and not Land rover.

They are now guessing it needs a new pedal assembly and have had a look at the wires and not found anything obvious.

My fear is I shell out on a new throttle assembly and it isn't that as so intermittent....... anyone come across this before or got any suggestions ????

Many thanks

Hi, If you put your location in there may be a member near you with Nanocom or similar that can read the TPS values for you.
Also have you checked for oil in the red plug on the ECU?
