td5 knocking advice please

hi
been noticing recently that my 2000 td5 has a slight knocking noise from the top of the engine. it only does it when at idle. it pulls like a train seems to run well. ive compared it to my dads td5 and that hasn't got the knock.. and mine pulls a hell of a lot better..
so any advice would be much appreciated tahh:boink:

Take the cam carrier cover off and have a look at the cam lobes. When my old engine started a similar knock it was due to fuel in the oil causing the lobes to wear. Shortly after I discovered the problem the oil pump sprocket came loose and fragged my engine at 65mph.
