I've heard of peeps doing this on early 90's to do away with leaking spheres, does anyone know what's involved? is it a simple swap old axel for new? I've seen a few axel's about on ebay with discs and calipers for about £150. I'm going to be doing the supension soon on my 'new' toy, so if it's an easy enough task then i'd like to swap the axel, as both of my sphere's are shot, and I thought it would be more cost effective to do the axel swap rather than change the spheres.

I am doing that this week, but have opted to keep original axle case and build the later swivels with on with all new gadgets and seals. its all nuts and bolts so is easy stuff really, if your going to fit new springs shocks and bushes id change the whole thing. i would leave a weekend for it and buy some spare track rod ends as there a pain to bodge on if they are worn.

Cheers Discoandy! is it all pretty straight forward then? can I use disco axel? as there seems to be plenty of these about.

yes disco axle will be fine, depending on the year of the 90. If toy are pre 200 tid ( i think) you will need the radios arms too as disco ones are wider. also may be worth cutting off the anti roll bar mounts if it has them

LA930456 on have the wider arms. and watch out for abs disco axles when buying, there not a problem but if you ever need to replace bits it may cost more
