Hi, I have just got my TD5 disco back from the local garage. My vision is a little bleary due to my eyes starting to leak for some reason when I got the bill for the brakes and service.
The problem is i have been informed that I also have a diesel leak!! This is occuring at the back of the cylinder block, under the manifold and appears to be where there is an electrical connection to the engine block. The mechanic tells me he cannot see what is causing it and to be able to see the problem it will involve stripping down large parts of the left side of the engine.
Does anyone know what this might be, and what will have to be done to fix it? Even more important does anyone know of a cheap way of fixing the leak?

Sounds like your fuel pressure regulator - mine cost £180 to replace at local 4x4 man in caldicot, south wales

The fuel pressure regulator leak is ultra common on Disco's. I got mine done recently at an independant. 80 quid for the part and 1 hours labour. Any more is robbery as it is a piece of **** to fit, if you know your way around TD5's.

It's also a DIY job but a littlle fiddly. If I had realised where it was I would have had a crack at it.

Cheers

Andy
