Td5 defender vibration

Good afternoon all I wonder if you can help I have a defender 10p td5 and have just rebuilt the r380 and as it was off replacement clutch/flywheel an lof smf and power spec clutch I marked the props where they came off all back together now but have a bad vibration at 60-75mph any body got any tips or had this problem before

I'd be checking the UJs for play. And that you've got all the pshaft bolts tight - we're all fallible.

new prop shafts was fitted a few months ago and i had marked them before taking them off now all lined up and tight i have no idea what it could be

What bit did you mark?
I take it you didn't remove the prop sliding joint and put it back out of phase when they were off kicking around the garage?

Its always the first assumption to recheck the work you have just done. Then the new parts you have used

if it wasnt there before.

hi mate no the props was kept together i took it all apart because the dmf had worn and was giving very very bad vibrations almost undrivable to get home i was thinking the vibrations may have damaged something else

So now you are running a SMF as opposed to the DMF?

I think you're saying that this all started before you did the work - which you did to try and cure it?

Because this is speed and not revs related, wheel balance, mud on the inside of the rims, jack each wheel and check it for bumps/roundness/cord failure. Since it's happening at a relatively high speed there needn't be much wrong. Probably rear wheels since you'd tell us you felt it through the wheel?

As I typed that I thought 'Y'know what, take it to a tyre place and get them to put them on the balancer anyway'.

Hard to say. It could be anything..

Is the vibration in the steering or over all?
