TD5 Defender key position 3 click

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing none start issues on the TD5

I can hear the fuel pump kicking in and all the light light up on dash I can hear the relay clicking but the engine won't start.

I've had the starter motor off and replaced the solenoid with X8 repair kit, I've witnessed the starter running out of the vehicle and the plunger operating correctly by applying 12v to the fly lead and main connector and I've replaced the battery brand new heavy duty. I've cleaned up the connections on the starter also. Now I'm lost to what to look at next.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Check the relay contacts under the drivers seat and main fuse under there and your engine earth leads.

Does it crank or is it totally dead?

Update.

Found a loose earth on engine mount.. cleaned up and tightened.
