New here, and been reading on here about removing the EGR which seems fairly straight forward to do and as far as I know causes no problems with MOT. Have also read about people recommending to clean the inlet manifold out? How is it best to do this?

Thinking of decatting it too, but was wondering if this caused any problems with passing an MOT? Apparently diesels only have to pass a smoke test and people pass with no problems, is this still the case? Would there be any implications when the MOT test centre notice the cat has been removed? Also how hard is it to remove the down pipe and replace it with a de catted pipe?

Thank you.

As said above its only petrol cars from 1993 that must have a cat fitted my TD5 Didnt have a cat when I got it and has been though 2 tests with no probs.

To change the down pipe I thing you need to remove the front chassis cross member but thats not hard.

I removed my egr and the inlet was clean, so worth checking if not you will need to remove the inlet manifold to clean it with de-gresser or brake cleaner.

Might not pass its next mot since the
Legislation is only just changing, read the new details myself and reliably I formed by a land rover specialist store where I brought my decar down pipe from. What they suggested I
Do is get somebody to fabricate a fake cat to weld around the new down pipe. New legislation states it must have a cat fitted, not that it Actully works, failing that keep he old down pipe and fit it back when it's mot time
