td5 dashboard

Hi,
I am looking to get a dash console from raptor engineering and they apparently only fit pre TD5 vehicles. I swear my 2000 TD5 defender has an absolutely identical dashboard to my 1998 300tdi. When I google "Defender TD5 dash" some look quite different to what I have. Am I missing something? Were early TD5 dashboards the same as 300tdi?

I'm pretty sure early td5's had the same dash as 300 tdi's.

Yes, the early TD5s had only a minimal array of stuff in the centre. Around 2002 a new centre console was introduced, with a space for the radio, surrounded by buttons that worked the heated seats, electric windows, heated rear screen and so on. Mine doesn't have a lot of these options so most of mine are blanked off.

I'm sure with a bit of ingenuity and a little fabrication your console of choice can be made to fit.

Raptor are incredibly helpful and easy to deal with. I would phone them up and ask the question. My friend had the same thing with the clock binnacle, as he has a 2000 plate td5. They confirmed that it would fit his. Think he spoke to them on the phone and then sent them through photograph of the dash in the end.

Even if you do have the facelift dash they sell a plate that fits over the front

I will give them a call on monday. I have a dash console sitting around which I intended on putting in my 300tdi but that project is taking much longer than anticipated. For one, my lower dash/heater duct on that is completely rotted out so I will need to get it repaired before I can start putting it all back together.
