Hi All,
My 1999 TD5 has 68K mls and goes like a dream.
Lately I have noticed (very) occasional knocking in the clutch/gearbox when idling in neutral. The noise goes away when you push down the clutch pedal or rev the engine.
My maintenance guy feels it is the "Floating fly wheel" which is knocking against it's bell housing, whereas in earlier models this was a soilid piece of kit and never caused any problems.
He further advises this part is 500 approx and if replacing it is is as well to replace the clutch at the same time-$$$$$$$signs.......
Any views?
