TD5 battery split charge

hi, just bought a battery from a td5 from a spares day to run as a split charge battery and ive heard a rumor that a standard alternator wont charge the battery and i will need some special charger or something, dont know if its true or not so if anyone could help that would be brilliant, thanks, mat

std alt will do fine - just need to split the charge so the noo battery dont drain yo old one.

Another vote here for the t-max. great bit of kit.

I also have a TD5 fender and it runs 2 batteries no issue.
