A month or so ago my gearbox oil temp light came on. there were no fault codes reg except for injector 5 open circuit current (which was cleared and never came back). took it to a indi who said the oil was knackered. gearbox was given a full service incl system flush. been fine now for a few hundred miles but today the temp light was back on. drove carefully and the light went out. got home and plugged in the nanocom and it showed injector 3 open circuit current.

Is it just coincedence that i've have 2 seperate injector faults reg when the gearbox temp light comes on or are the two linked somehow?

Oh and it was running fine with no loss of power etc

I'm going to stick my neck out and suggest that you check for oil in the loom.

The open circuit on injector fault is often an indication of oil in the injector loom and the oil can make it's way back to the ECU where it could be affecting other functions, hence the temperture warning light.

Dead easy to check, just pull the plug off the ECU and have a look see :)

ummmm............did have it replaced about 18 months ago but have had to clean the ecu plug out a couple of times since. will have another look at the weekend to see if any more has made it's way down there

had a look yesterday and oil was in the red ecu plug (not a lot, prob what was left in the loom from before). have cleaned it all out and see if it cures the problem

From my reading of the manual, page 44-14,the transmission temp is measured at the cooler not at the transmission, and is measured by a probe that is inserted in the RH end of the cooler with a connector into the circuit. According to the manual page 44-15 there is no item on the EAT ECU connector for the transmission that deals with fluid temp. Manual says that the temp when overheated simply lights the warning lamp which stays on until the temp normalises.
