Hi all hope you can help.

I have disco 2 td5 with an air suspension issue.. I noticed that the 30 amp fuse had blow to the air compressor, so I changed it and it blown straight away.. I removed the compressor and found some water in it.. I cleaned it up and tested it and it now works but while refiting it I found a pipe broken on a black cylinder where the bigger pipes go to and exit from( can't identify part).

I repaired the pipe and carried on assembling.. When it came to testing I pressed button on dash to lift, light started flashing and pump started but no lift.. I have checked air bags for leaks and found none if anything they were inflated and solid as vehicle is still level.

Any ideas why I can't get it to lift or drop.. Thanks

Hi, it happens that the compressor runs but it hasnt enough "guts" to pump up the bags...especially after it was full of water once. U can check if the management works, put a jack under the towbar, push ORM switch than start to jack it up...if the lamp will stop flashing as u jacked up the back to ORM height then the height management is good...if not there might be a management issue and u better find somebody with tester to run circuit tests(inflate/deflate the bags with the tester) to make sure the air supply valves are opening while the compressor is running

Well I have had a play and the suspension now rises on the button. The only problem is it won't go down.... Bugger, any ideas.

what do you mean won't go down?... if u push the ORM switch second time or u exceed 19mph the lamp flashes but it doesnt go down to normal height? ... it if it's so check if u didnt disturb the exhaust valve's plug when u worked on the compressor

or explain better what's going on

Sorry, what I meant was when I press button for the second time the light flashes button doesn't go down.. Which plugs do what on the compressor ie black, white and blue.. Is there a bleeding or setup I should carry out..

Thanks

there are 3 electrical valves, the 2 air supply valve and the exhaust valve, the air supply valves must open and the compressor must run to inflate the bags and the air supply valves must open together with the exhaust valve to release the air and drop the back

see pic ...check connector 8 to be well plugged

Well I have had another play and now the suspension goes up and down but seems to settle higher on one side than the other.. Roughly 3 to 4 inches higher. Any idea with this.

Thanks for your help so far.

if u "had a play" with the sensors too without disconnecting the battery first it means the system needs recalibration...if u didnt touch the sensors then u better replace them with new ones

what was actually what u did there? ... cos u better not "play" with this system;)

Nothing drastic, and I found a leak on one of the air bag supply hoses.. It all seems to work ok now I have changed seal.. The pump is a little noisy due too the water damage. Any suggestions with the noise.. Thanks for all the advice chap.

Nothing drastic, and found a leak on one of the feed pipe so I changed the seal.. All works fine apart from the noisy pump due to water damage. Any any suggestions for on the noise.. Thanks you for your help boss, and most appreciated.
