hi i have a 2001 td5 auto . just had the air con regassed now it actually works. have searched but cant find anything . i have loads of water in front footwells. where do the drain pipe(s) come out in the engine bay .as i seem to remember common problem with them getting blocked. many thanks.

It is next to gear box driver side level with the gear stick its a 10mm size pipe with a pointy end . . They do block give it a good pinch that normally helps move things along .

There's actually one on each side.... If you lie down underneath and put your hand up between the bell housing and the tunnel you'll find them. Be prepared for a sleeve full of mucky water.

I just threw the rubber things away as I don't do any deep wading. And if you have an auto it's helpful to install a bit of piping to direct the water away from the XYZ switch.

Good advice !

Mine was doing same thing. It was these rubber drain things as mentioned, they just collect dust or something and block. One of mine i removed to unblock and still haven't got round to putting it back.

when you say install a bit of rubber piping do you know how to get to the bit at the top in the engine bay and wherethey are ?

As I mentioned, just reach up between the bell housing and the tunnel and you'll find them. I just used a bit of plastic tubing I had lying about and cable tied it to the chassis leg.
