Hi Everyone
Even though I have already replaced the fuel pump once, I need to do it again. To be honest I made an arse of it the first time when I allowed the whole pump to move when I tightened the locking ring. I broke off the float and and tried to weld it with a soldering iron. Anyway, this weekend I'm going to cut a hatch and replace the whole unit with a new one.
My question is, do I fit the seal to the tank first or do I fit the seal to the pump and then put it in? Also if anyone has a picture of the correct way round for the seal, that would be appreciated. I just cant remember!
Classic case of rushing a job unnecessarily when I was doing the restoration, the tank was out and so should have been a doddle, but I was at the "overwhelmed" stage and just wanted to bash through jobs. Another lesson learned. I will be buying a ring removal tool as well!
Thanks
