I'm after a working fuel pump for my 2004 Disco TD5. Primarily to determine if mine is actually worn out or not. Don't really want to buy a new one for 200 quid only to find out my current one is fine.

Lot of work to change.
Would you not be better removing either the plastic bung or sensor on the bottom of the fuel filter and then cranking the engine,
that would let you know if the pump was working

I replaced mine last August. Had been running rough for a few weeks and when I changed the filter, it took ages to start and then died on me.
All the cheap ones don't get a good rep and most don't come with a warranty.
I bought a genuine one and worked a dream and cured the rough running.

I've been told the same thing previously..... Maybe I should just buy a new one, it certainly can't make it any worse. Thanks :)

Just wanted to close this thread with a resolution, well for me anyway.

My rough running was due to a faulty fuel pump
