Td5 110 shudder at 45mph

Ive had a look on old posts but havnt found the answer. Got a shudder, only slight 45-55 mph but its not consistent. On front axle Ive new bearings, stub axles, cv joints, brake calipers but old disks ( which were fine before and have plenty of wear left) and a full refurb of the steering swivel balls with new seals pins one thin shim and right torque, Hub nuts right torque and side crimped properly with no latteral play. steering box and drop arm is a fairly recent recon, track rod/ panhard ends about a year old. New bearings brake calipers and disks on the back. Half done yellow poly prop bushes ( just rear A frame and front wishbone arms to do). Clutch is ok, heavy duty fly wheel and clutch plate replaced last year and inspected in Feb when refitting the rebuilt engine (so not likely to be engine fault induced wobble). Jiggled propshaft and no obvious movement there. Tyres new on front but half worn on back but still plenty of wear left.
Was thinking it might be coil springs or shocks as ive noticed it does sometimes bounce in unexpected directions if I hit a pothole at speed. Other thought is that garage didnt balance front tyres properly (they used the garage junior and I had to go back because they put the wrong worn tyre as the spare, so I wouldnt be surprised) any comments or suggestions on what else it could be gratefully recieved

Sounds like it may be a mild death wobble, based on what you have already replaced it could be swivels or steering damper. Did you check UJs both ends of both props? With the handbrake off is best (on flat ground of course)

Dont think its swivels They were reconned about three months ago. Trying to remember when I replaced the damper but its not more than 18 months ago. Thing is it is spot on the button steeringwise, nice and firm no slop and like on rails in corners at 55-60 (unless I hit a pothole when it might bounce out in a funny direction)
It was just a cursory check on prop ujs they are both heavy duty and were replaced march 2016. But probably worth a closer look.

didnt have a preload meter but used the rule of thumb from the book/ewetube about how much effort to move the swivels to get aprox preload and have one shim of appropriate thickness fitted and pin at right torque so probably but not definately not that, thinking it might be shocks too so its good to get some indication from someone else. Cant see any damage on coil springs but they are original 1999 and done nearly 350k miles, think they might be suspect?

Well I think you have answerd your own question, Dampers/shocks needed and might as well do new springs as well.

New springs and shocks required by the sound of it - you will be pleasantly surprised how well it drives!

Cheers guys been underneath her this morning and had a more thorough scout about. Everything is as it should be. Think that steering damper, shocks and springs are the likely culprit. But i also found that the front radius arm front two bushes are begining to disintegrate. Thats probably contributing to the shudder. Good job ive the other half of the yellow polybush set ive partially fitted that I can replace them with.

Sounds like a classic case of wheel balance to me, and easiest thing to check and eliminate.
