HI guys, having loads of grief with old faithful (NOT)
Can any of you gurus please point me in the right direction. Landy specialist has had it for a week with no joy and basically has give up. Symptoms are:-
Turns over but wont fire when hot or cold.
Have changed the fuel pump, filter and fitted new battery.
Specialist said it was leaking back on 2 injectors so replaced and still wont start and said there was no fault code on diagnostics. He has swapped the injectors round and done a compression test and fuel pressure test, checked relays and pressure switch and all ok. Car starts no probs with a bump start or with a shot of easy start. Once running, will run all day without missing a beat even at full speed with no smoke at all, but if I switch it off it wont start. Could this be a camshaft sensor or would it give different symptoms, cant afford to throw any more money at it now so need some help. Any input would be appreciated.
Cheers
Dave

starting with a bump or easy start suggests fuel rail is getting air in ,engines worn out ie low compression or glowplugs dont work

Engine turns over no probs and once running I travelled 50 mile round trip without any misfire or smoke but still wont start hot or cold landy specialist said he cant find anything on fuel system. If air in system why only prob on start up ?

pump turns over slowly on cranking ,a bump start or running pump turns faster ,ie air entering from leaking leak off pipe can take time to clear ,worn injectors or pump can show similar symptoms
