I have a 2001 td4 which which has recently had brake pads put in front & two new tyres on front, then passed mot with flying colours, I took it home and parked up with handbrake on!!! I left it for couple of months (due to extortinate tax costs!!) when i eventually went to drive off one of the rear wheels was stuck,ie it wouldnt go round and skidded off the gravel, and it appeared to vibrate awfully at approx 50mph, but not thro the steering, i parked it up and left it this time without the handbrake on but when i went to drive it off after couple of weeks the rear wheel was stuck again??? this time the vibrations are also at low speeds and seem to come up thro the drivers seat. there also appears to be a slight drumming noise. Help! I have now parked it up and refuse to drive it as it worries me a lot!!!!!!!!

erm...rear brake shoes seized???

by the way...your new tyres should go on the BACK and the tyres from the back go on the front as this causes other expensive issues! When you're having the brakes sorted get them to change the wheels round....

I suggest you get someone to change the wheels around BEFORE you drive anywhere as you can cause serious damage even driving a few miles the way it is. The incorrect tyre fitment could also be the source of the vibration.
