so I've got the dreaded vibration coming from what I believe is a problem within the centre prop I've had a look the the Vcu bearings and the front one has excessive play and the metal washer/dustcover is bent aswell it wasn't sat staright and since I straightened it the vibration wasn't as bad but it's now back too it's old ways should I replace them ?

Check the rear diff mounts and VCU while you're at it. The rear of the propshaft will move quite easily if they're gone and do the one wheel up test to check the VCU. Google it if you've never heard of it.
