td4 smoking

got a 02 freelander td4 and it has started throwing out a load of black smoke when accelerating. there are no warning lights and i have just replaced the crank case breather filter because there was oil coming up the dip stick

anyone got any ideas?

Split or leaking turbo hose maybe? One of mine popped off the other week and it threw a load of black smoke out the back! Scared me as I didn't know what had happened but you should have seen what it did to the little boy racer in the white Clio tailgating me!

bolted to the exhaust manifold normally

Check all the big black rubber hoses across the front of the engine bay! Just in front of the plastic engine cover. One of those may be split!

Where else would you bolt it?
