TD4 Reverse Light/Sensor Switch

Hi guys,

Looking for some advice!

My reverse lights and sensor do not come on (I believe due to be the switch in the gearbox) however my trouble comes from the fact that it is only in the mornings that it doesn't work, so once I have gotten to work and reverse into my space it is as happy as Larry. Potentially due to it being cold but during the drive it warms up sufficiently to work?

Anyone come across this one before or should I just go ahead and replace the switch.

Have you metered for 12v at the bulb when it's not working ? Is this why you suspect the switch ?...

I have not yet but I will do that tonight, I was just suspecting the switch as from reading around it seems to fit best.

If it comes down to the switch ...try working the springy plunger with your fingers - it might just be sticking in with grime, a bit of a clean might do it.

Might also check for wetness/corrosion in and around the bulb holder and check for a GOOD earth.
