Hello all.
As always thanks for any pointers on this.
My Freelander is on 104000, mls now after picking it up at 75,000mls. I do regular servicing, Oil change and all the filters every year (7000mls tops) My question is... When do you change those 'O' Rings in the Filter housing? Are they special 'O' rings or ordinary black for oil rings? By that I mean i know that Blue are for Water etc, and so on.
I have a Haynes Book on the Hippo, but can't find any reference to the 'O' rings or change intervals.
Advice welcome chums.
Cheers.

I replace mine at every oil change there is usually one in the box with the filter but do not try the copper one that is not for the freelander as the oil filter fits other cars

As said. Use the O rings supplied with the filter. If none are supplied with the filter, buy a make that includes them in the box.

Thanks for your replies all.

As it goes, I have never yet come across a filter kit that has these 'O' rings in.Would welcome any links to one if not too much trouble.

Cheers for your time on this. Ta...
